Winged Burl Bowl This one was a challenge as this piece was not very balanced and in order to do a little bowl in it I had to offset the piece on the lathe. Turned lots of air, but got the piece to where I really liked it. © Dirk Hoogendoorn |  |
 | Vigilant The wood is Cherry from a log that had been sunk in Stokes Bay for about 100 years before being pulled to shore and milled. The rim was dyed with aneline wood dye and the Eagle was burned in then the lines sculpted with a mini turbine before painting black then sanding and finish the colouring of the Eagle. © Dirk Hoogendoorn |
