". . . As the basic form begins to emerge, I carefully
ascertain the nature of the raw wood, paying particular
attention to any grain structures or natural defects
such as bark inclusions or burls so that I can best
reveal and often embellish these inherent and often
unique and beautiful qualities . . ."
